the HIGHPOINT

The Highpoint is a community offering dedicated offices, workshops, workspaces, and studio spaces for creative professionals in the Scott’s Addition area of Richmond, VA. This client needed a logo to help them standout in an ever growing area of Richmond, VA at the intersection of Highpoint Avenue and Moore Street. As simple as this project looks, it came with a unique set of variables to help it stand out. As you can see from the mockup, their building signage area is quite long while not being overly tall. The Art Deco Architectural elements, and the thin painted lines of the building color scheme called for a design that would read well utilizing a wide footprint to best fit the available space. Choosing to use a font with a thin stroke and a wide kerning, I felt like the design fit the architecture really well, and the client was quite pleased. People around Richmond, still know this building for the gigantic Bernie Sanders mural painted on the side, but my work is right there with it, so I’m happy with it.
